Girls Incorporated of Pinellas Executive Director Named Management Professional of the Year

PINELLAS PARK: In November, Girls Incorporated of Pinellas Executive Director Renee McInnis was acknowledged as the “Management Professional of the Year” at an awards ceremony at the Girls Incorporated Regional Conference in Tennessee. Executives throughout the southeastern United States who have provided exceptional leadership within Girls Inc affiliates vied for the award.

McInnis received the award for her work in developing unique programs for Girls Incorporated of Pinellas, for providing sound fiscal leadership, revitalizing the agency’s community presence, developing the innovative Girls Empowerment Library, and generally making Girls Inc. a center of excellence.

McInnis has been the Executive Director of Girls Incorporated of Pinellas since May 2005. Prior to that, she worked for over 20 years in two Tampa Bay area domestic violence agencies, where she was instrumental in developing innovative programs and increasing community support.

"The mission of Girls Incorporated is to inspire all girls to be strong, smart and bold,” says Mcinnis, and I am very proud to be a part of it.  We serve hundreds of girls every year, and provide the programs and encouragement they need in order to envision a brighter future and define themselves by more than their external circumstances.  For them, being a Girls Inc girl is one of the most important opportunities they will ever receive.”

Girls Inc. is a United Way agency that provides girls empowerment programs during summer day camp and in innovative school year programs. For more information call (727) 544-6230 or go online at www.girlsinc-pinellas.org.
