Every year almost 300 girls depend on scholarships to attend our Girls Inc school year and summer programs. That’s about 70% of our girls.
- These are girls like sisters “Jenny,” 9, and “Megan,” 7 who have been Girls Inc girls for years.
In 2010, their mom was laid off from her corporate job and Support-A-Girl helps Jenny and Megan attend Girls Inc while mom job hunts. At
Girls Inc, Jenny and Megan get the tutoring help they need, hot dinners, and a safe place after school.

Its girls like “Samantha,” whose dad died suddenly early this year, leaving three children and a mom who had to split up her family to make ends meet. Sam finds stability, mentoring, and a community that embraces her at Girls inc.

And divorced dads like “Mike,” who has custody of his daughter “Chloe” and is struggling with family finances. Mike and Chloe recently attended our economic literacy program, learning how to make smart money choices.
For these girls, and about 300 more, Support-A-Girl helps provide the resources they need to develop into academically focused and economically self-sufficient young women… the type of young women our community needs.
